My wife and I have just seen him in the Hunter Valley Australia. He does some of the 24 hrs tracks. What a performance!!!!! Absolutly fantastic. The consumate performer. Tom had us all in the palm of his hand for nearly 2 hours. If you are into him and his music whatever it takes go and see him before he calls it a day.
You won’t be disappointed, You will be glad you have seen him at this stage of his performing life, Truly a great experience worthy of its place in my most memorable times on this earth. Thank you Tom.

I echo Nancy's sentiments and have been watching tj.com for a message "from" Tom about Chile. Also, really enjoyed the video from Chile and the Australian interview even tho I was surprised about him saying the band had other opportunities and wanted to leave his employ.

It is great that you posted the relief links for us. We can't be reminded enough that we have the power to help others in the world who are in desperate straits due to these horrific acts of nature.

You're right, Tammy, it is an apt song. Gimme Shelter was written by Rolling Stones Mick Jagger and Keith Richards and was the lead track on the band's 1969 album Let It Bleed. The song was not originally released as a single but was in their stage show. In 2004 Rolling Stone (magazine) placed the song at #38 on the list of Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. Though written to express the turmoil of the late 60s, the lyrics are apt today: "Oh, a storm is threat'ning, My very life today; If I don't get some shelter, Oh yeah, I'm gonna fade away."

In 1993, a CD was released On Food Records that featured many different versions of the song. That's where Tom's version originated. He recorded the song with the alt band New Model Army to benefit the "Putting Our House in Order" project of the Shelter charity in the UK.

I had a moment of inspiration earlier when I was listening to one of Mr. Jones' cd's from his definitive collection. The song titled 'Give Me Shelter' speaks volumes as to the plight of those unfortunate people in Chile. Wouldn't it be great if that song could be played and every time it was money would be raised to help with relief efforts. He is clearly loved and adored everywhere he goes near and far. Recognizable and familiar to so many even more help could be just a lyric or two away.
