Update: The Word Is That Tom Is Going Back To California To Rest; July Shows Canceled
Thursday, July 23rd, 2009TJI has heard from two sources that Tom is headed back to California and the shows in Boston, Hyannis, Woodstock, Virginia, North Carolina and Georgia are canceled.
Remember, it’s not official until you read it on TomJones.com or hear it from the venues. (But TJI believes it’s true and the rest at home is for the best.)

While I know the fans are disappointed, (I know I would be), I also know we all want him to take care of himself and feel better soon. What a schedule that man keeps, huh?

I just received an email from MGM Grand @ Foxwoods about the cancellation. I confirmed it with the box office. Although I am very disappointed (I was really looking forward to tomorrow night’s show), I want Tom to do what is best to regain his health. Apparently, he came back too soon and made matters worse. GET WELL SOON, TOM!!

I hope that Tom receives the best of care and allows himself plenty of rest. The greatest gift to his fans would be his good health. Take care TJ.

The best decision. At the same time my deepest sorrow for the fans. Get well Tom so you can do again what you like most…to be on stage!

What a relief to know he’s made the right decision and is going home, instead of forcing himself to continue. The thought of what could have happened to that wonderful voice or worse to his health is very unsettling. Please get better quick TJ, you’ll be missed.

I was looking forward to Tom coming to NC, he is never here, but I really want him to take care of himself and be well. That is the main issue.

The most important thing for yours fans Sir Tom is to take care of you to be able to sing again and again and again as you can do!!!!

Cancelling several shows must put you in very bad mood Tom, but what is most important in your fans’ heart is to know you are in good health. Take your time.

Sir Tom please take all the time you need to get well. You fans miss you, but you need plenty of rest right now so you can sing to us again those wonderful songs.

Diane, I could not agree with you more!

I fully understand the disappointment the fans feel about the cancelled shows – however it is good to know that we all agree that Tom’s health comes first. It takes more than a few days to get rid of that bronchitis fully. Hope he is well enough for Vegas – am sure this rest will do it for him

I was so looking forward to seeing him in Atlanta next Friday but I don’t want him to be sick or push himself. I think I will pray for a miracle recovery.

I was broken to hear Sir Tom Jones was not going to make it to the Biltmore House in NC. I think this is the first time I have ever have been this hurt to learn of a cancelation. I hope and pray that Sir Tom gets well soon, with no lingering problems, and I hope that he makes it back to NC. It is not often that we have such greatness come to our area. I pray health, peace and blessings for Sir Tom and his family.

I am glad he is resting at his home in L.A. I was down with this awful summer flu last week and I can’t even imagine if I had to sing every night. I am happy he is recovering and taking care of his great voice. On the better note, I have front row tickets in Vegas in August and I can’t wait!!!
Take Care Tom and see you and the MGM!!
