Tom Jones At The MGM: How’s He Doing?
Monday, March 23rd, 2009It’s Monday morning in Las Vegas and, contrary to the trend of late, last week was a very busy one here. Trouble in Mexico caused an uptick in Spring breakers in Las Vegas and March Madness (national college basketball finals games) caused an uptick in visitors who want to be here where the sports book (betting) action is. So, show tickets were selling better than ever. Yes, last-minute tickets are available, but they tend to be in the back of the house.

Undoubtedly bouyed by the success of his CD, the great reception the songs from it get at his show and by the success of the Comic Relief CD — to which his contribution went a long way toward raising millions of pounds — Sir Tom is on fire! Energetic, happy and with a voice in tip-top shape — still, in so many ways a man in his prime.

We’ve been onto other topics for the last two days but, be assured, everyone who visits this site wants to share your experiences at Tom’s show. Please post a review or a comment.
Note: Sorry about the color on the photo. The stage lights played a big role in making it odd.

I see Tom all the time but it’s been a long time since I’ve seen him this excited onstage. The new material is being received very well and the crowds are enthusiastic. He is just amazing!

Thanks for the very sexy picture of the Silver fox. Sure peps up a Monday. I was all for him getting rid of those old black shirts, but with that beautiful white jacket and more buttons undone so we can again see his cross, that old black shirt suddenly looks pretty good! Hope he continues this wardrobe change when he gets here to Florida.

Hi to everyone who was there for the past 3 nights at the MGM. Me and my sister Dani had an AMAZING TIME. Two out of three nights we sat directly in front of Tom. FANTASTIC. He looked and sounded brilliant. The band were cool and we loved the set list. I loved thatTtom performed my favorite song Never from the new album. I’m just at the airport waiting for my flight home. We are both still buzzing from seeing Tom. Hi to everyone we met over the past few days. — Lots of love Kel and Dan x

I have said it before and I’ll say it again Sir Tom is unstopable! Ellen he belongs in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame; we need to get a campaign started! Thanks for the picture, a Monday WOW factor. TJ you’ll always be a handsome hunk.

Diane: There will be a campaign….but not a messy public one because, according to what we’ve heard, those type of campaigns and petitions do not work. If and when anything happens we’ll let you know. If you have an idea you’d like to share, please email me.. Please do not post them. Thanks.

I was supposed to go to the MGM in May but now it’s been pushed up to August – 4 nights with Tom – can’t wait. Has anyone seen the new TV ad for Tropicana Low Sugar Orange Juice? Yup, it’s our man singing “She’s a Lady”. I’ve heard it the last 2 mornings around 7:20 as I’m leaving for work. Nice way to start the day!

I Have seen him many times in Vegas but most recently at the House of Blues In Anaheim California. I adore the Grey Hair. The Orange County Register wrote a great article about him which was published on this website. I especially love the title of the article ” A LION ROARS.” YES that describes him perfectly as he is the Ultimate performer. I am waiting for August in Vegas!!!!
