A comic staple on British TV, this week’s Ant and Dec Show aired Saturday night on ITV1. It’s difficult to describe so, if I get it wrong, forgive me.
It seems to be a combination of variety, a few game shows and general silliness. On each show they have a guest announcer. At one point they resurrect that hoary, musty US game show (remember Charles Nelson Reilly and Brett Sommers?) Match Game. The whole thing looks ridiculous, but you have to admit the man is a sport to do this and he does look like he’s having fun.

In the UK this is a really big Saturday night show. Shame he didn’t sing….I must admit it seemed a bit desparate just turning up to to these ‘announcer’ slots. I think he did 3 or 4 just before each ad break. At least he got to plug the CD. I think the bits with him were pre recorded although I’m not sure!!
