Here’s where you’ll find TJ photos and stories that don’t fit into any other categories. It is, as its name says, just for fans — and, hopefully, for fun.
Announcing Our 2008 TJI.com Fan Calendar — Now We Need Your Photos
Monday, June 18th, 2007After reading the responses to our June Question of the Month, and reading what you’ve written on the forum at tomjones.com (which, as fans we always read), we’ve decided to produce a TomJonesInternational.com 2008 Fan Calendar.
The calendar pages will each be 8.5 x 11 inches. The cover will be glossy card stock and the pages will be glossy paper. It will be stitched, rather than bound with a spiral binding.
All we can say about the quality of the finished product is that it will be consistent with the quality of this website and sturdier than the ones we’ve seen sold on eBay over the last few years. The quality will be such that, after the calendar is used, we’re sure the photos will be well worth saving or, even, framing.
We’re working with vendors to find the best price and keep the cost at under $20 plus shipping, entirely consistent with the cost of other fan merchandise.
To do this we need your help.
Please read this carefully:
Because this is strictly a fan endeavor, we can only use photos of Tom taken by fans over the years. When you submit a photo, it must come with a note that you took it (or that you have consent from the photographer to use it), a statement telling us where and when it was taken.
If you see photos on any of our flickr sets you’d like included, please let us know. If they’re fan photos, we’ll consider them.
If your photo is chosen, you will get a photo credit and a free calendar. (Of course, if we choose more than one of your photos, you’ll get more than one calendar.)
We’re also trying to arrange a page of photos of Tom with fans. More about that soon.
Meanwhile, we’re looking for photos from all phases of Tom’s career. They should be scanned at a minimum of 300 dpi. If you need to send hard copies to us, or send them on CD, please email us for the address. We will scan the hard copies and — barring really unforeseen circumstances — return them.
If you know fans who do not visit this site, please let them know about this and encourage them to send photos.
We need all photos by Friday, July 20th.

Thanks for monitoring our website. The idea for a calendar is neither original nor new as you surely must know. At any rate, we assume you will not want a calendar and we will, therefore, take you off our list.

Instead of riding on the coattails of “the forum at tomjones.com” and taking tips from the entire TOMJONES.COM website as well… LOL.. I know it must be a stretch for you groupies to actually use the miniscule brain you have to create your own ideas INSTEAD OF STEALING THEM FROM TOMJONES.COM FANS! HAHAHA But of course it was only due to TOMJONES.COM website and other dedicated TJ fansites that enraged your jealousy to create TJI.COM and then howl to the world, or anyone that would listen, that TJI.COM IS THE BEST!! THAT TJI.COM IS BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE, INCLUDING TOMS ONLY OFFICIAL WEBSITE.. TOMJONES.COM!! Well HOORAY FOR YOUR ARROGANCE AND STUPIDITY!!!! YAAAAYYYYYYY hahahahaha Its really sickening how you people take credit when you steal others ideas or suggestions and with a twist present them AS YOUR OWN! Hi. I would suggest “Not Like You” needs help expressing his/her true feelings.
I went back to reread the post about the calendar that was written. I thought perhaps I had misread or missed something. You did not insult T.J.com nor did you steal the calendar idea. I also thought you complimented forum members and TJ.com by saying you are also fans and always read the forum. I also read the forum and have on a couple of occasions posted. I can’t figure out how that’s an insult to TJ.com or the members of the forum. As fans of Tom’s I thought we all shared ideas and comments. I guess I was wrong and only the forum and it’s members are allowed this right. Oh, well, I hope that “Not Like You” feels better now that he/she has written.
Personally I would love a calendar. Over the years I’ve been unable to get a Tom calendar. My husband and I have both looked.
It would be great to have a calendar that won’t fall apart. Thanks!

Question for “not like you” – is miniscule the opposite of maxiscule? According to my dictionary I believe the proper term would be “minuscule.” Oh wait, I see where “miniscule” is in the dictionary…it’s a variant of “minuscule.” And in case “not like you” isn’t familiar with the word “variant,” it means “not agreeing or conforming; differing, esp. from something of the same general kind…not universally accepted.” Seems that term is quite appropos for “not like you.”
I mean, come on, we are all fans of TOM JONES and we all love any site dedicated to the man (and his music)! As fans, we want as many calendars, key rings, T-shirts, we can get! It doesn’t matter who comes up with the ideas…what matters is that it is a quality product that properly salutes the man who brought us all together.
In truth, if “not like you” wants to accuse someone of “stealing ideas,” the so-called accused would be the fans, not the creators of this website! The question was asked and the fans responded!!
Regarding the comment, “howl to the world, or anyone that would listen, that TJI.COM IS THE BEST!! THAT TJI.COM IS BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE, INCLUDING TOMS ONLY OFFICIAL WEBSITE,” I don’t recall Ellen and Ursula ever tooting their own horns about this website…it’s the folks who visit regularly who do the praising! TJI.com gives us all the latest information we crave!
But enough about that, I can’t wait to hear more about the calendar and actually get one!

Hi: The first comment was uncalled-for. This is a GREAT site. If I did not know better and I am not naming names, but sounds like another club that may be (but not exactly) based in NE USA that has put out a calender might be sounding off.

There is no reason to have a hissy fit. There is plenty of room on the worldwide web for all TomJones sites. If there was merchandise for sale on TomJones.com, I’d buy it. No one has seen fit to provide it for us. Therefore I will be buying this calendar. Just wish I had a picture with Tom to submit. Oh well, maybe in August!!!!!!

And, BTW, I think the TJ official web site is little slow, or somthing. Dunno who is updating it, but I see news from here faster, and here is always good questions and reviews + news. TJ.Com forums are nice

The calendar sounds like a great idea… I can’t wait to see it…. I love this site… and agree that both Ellen and Ursula are doing a great job…. they always are up to date on their info and it is very much appreciated!!!! Keep up the good work!!!

Hey what happened? Did she sit on something sharp or, as we say over here, did she/he see his backside (bottom) and didn’t like the look of it!!!!!!!! There is no excuse for bad manners. I would buy a Tom calendar from both sites We are Tom fans, not foes. It is supposed to be fun sharing our Welshman together!!!! It makes me sad: “Love is sharing Tom together.”

Must say that the idea of a calender is great. Finally some people who understand what fans want. This site definitely is one of the best fanpages around. Keep up the good work and you can put me on the list…As for “not like you”……sad.

Wow, that was an odd reaction (from “not like you”) to great news! Personally, I’m happy to have ANY Tom merchandise from ANYWHERE. Don’t get the bashing one site over another. Different strokes for different folks as the saying goes. Hope you are feeling better soon “not like you.”

All I can say is THANK YOU Ellen and Ursula for this Fantastic Fan Website! We all love your work you do here and this ‘negative outburst” does NOT represent how the rest of us feel. The unpleasant email speaks for itself, CLEARLY! I agree with Pat that “Love is sharing Tom together”.
With that said, I am thrilled about the calendar and I will be sharing my photos taken over the years.
The best to you both and Thank You again for being such GREAT Tom Fans for the rest of us! WE LOVE IT!

Hey, I would LOVE a calendar of Sir Tom w/ RECENT (sorry to shout) pictures of him — like the last 5 years…so I can re-live his great performances & the great concerts I’ve been to,. Let’s celebrate the Tom Jones of Today! (The Tom Jones of the new millennium?) The older pictures of him from 60′s through 90′s — well, he just doesn’t look like that anymore, and I can’t “connect.”

Hi, Nancy: When we do the calendar, we want to try to get a good mix — Tom as many fans remember him and as we know him today. We each have our favorite TJ eras and we’d like to touch on times that please the widest range of people Of course, it all depends upon the photos we get in.

I think a mix is a good idea: let’s face it Tom has looked gorgeous through every decade from the 60s onwards and still does today. I can’t wait to see the finished product!
