Please don’t forget to review the This Is Tom Jones DVD set (in the post below), but we just had to post this and comment on it.
The ad at right, measuring 5 inches by 4 inches (12.7×10.2 cm) appeared in today’s New York Times Magazine, a prestigious nationally circulated publication with more than 1.6 million readers. Although we haven’t seen it elsewhere, we’d bet it will appear in lots more places. And — look! — by sharing the cost of the ad, Borders (whose online partner is amazon.com) is making it a featured selection when it’s released Tuesday. And it is now available on iTunes in the US.
Now, we don’t love the duet with Tom on this CD but of course you’ve noticed that Tom (old photo and all) gets top billing here after Morrison. And their photo together is the largest one — aside from the picture of Morrison alone — on the cover. Obviously, Van Morrison’s people think Tom Jones is a name to reckon with here in the US.
Now, if only Tom’s new CD were to get this kind of push in North America…….What would happen?

I am happy that Tom is featured so prominently and I hope his own CD gets the same treatment but I still don’t like this song.

Not so much as a comment on this CD, but has there been any word on whether Tom is doing any recording for his own CD?

Ed, please see our Rumor or Reality page for the answer to your question.

So, when is Sir Tom Jones’ new CD going to be released? Is it duets with different artists? Or is it Tom Jones? I hope it gets a lot of air play here in LA. Please let me know everything about this new CD. Tom, good luck on your new CD. Keep on rocking us fans & keep grooving. We love you, Tom.

We love our Tom Jones. Here is a person who does a tribute to Elvis& Tom Jones. He is named James King, entertainer/singer/dj (www.jamesking56.com). He is very good has a great personality.

Agree with David about James. Saw him at Elvis and Priscilla’s honeymoon house is Palm Springs in August. He did a sensational Elvis. He has a great voice, is a fabulous entertainer and thoroughly nice guy. He deserves to do really well. Go see his shows if you get the chance. If his Tom Jones is anything like his Elvis, you’re in for a real treat!
