Tom’s Show At Resorts in Atlantic City Tonight (Sunday) Cancelled

Note from official website to fans, August 1, 2006:

sorry letter photo

“I’m very sorry I had to cancel the last two shows in Atlantic City this past weekend. I hate to disappoint my fans and all those who made plans to come and see me, and it’s upsetting to have to cancel.

I had an infection that affected by vocal cords, and was ordered not to sing by the doctor. As you may know, singing with cords that are not healthy can cause further serious damage, which of course all singers must avoid. Otherwise, I’m in good health and all is well. My sincerest apologies, and I hope to see you again in Atlantic City soon. ”

    I was one of the people who had tickets to the Saturday night show. Was really dissapointed it didn’t work out. I saw the review of the Thursday show where his voice cracked a bit. Does anyone know what his voice was like on Friday. Even though I didn’t see the celebrity I wanted to see this weekend, I got to see the actor who plays “Artie Bucco” on the Sopranos at the Casbah club at the Taj on Saturday night and on Sunday driving home on the Parkway at the Forked River reststop, I spotted the members of Air Supply having some pizza before hitting the road. A crazy weekend indeed!!

    So sorry that happened to you Vince, because the same thing happened to me in July of ’03. That experience taught me to choose a show at the beginning of the run, or after he has had a break. I was lucky enough to be in AC for the Thursday night show, and honestly did not notice voice problems. But then again, I do not have the seasoned ear of Scoop, so she obviously knows her stuff. Let’s hope this was just a fluke, and Tom is better than ever for future show to come.

    good point- I’ll have to remember that for next time. thanks!!

    I hope he is better soon. I am going to Vegas in August and have tickets for three nights.

    I was also one of the Saturday night show ticket-holders. It was a huge disappointment that Tom couldn’t sing. Does anyone know how he’s doing now? He must have been quite ill to cancel two shows in a row. On the upside, I met some mutual concert goers who all turned out to be very nice people. We had a meal together and then went up to the Luna Lounge for some music and cocktails. What could have been a horrible night turned out to be a good one. Get well, Sir Tom. I’m already counting the days until your return to Atlantic City in December.

    Hope he’s feeling better. {{{{{TJ}}}}}

    Has anyone found out what’s wrong with our boy? Is it just laryngitis or something more serious?

  8. Moderator Says:

    We’re told that Tom is planning to be in Las Vegas August 10 as scheduled.

  9. Brianne Says:

    Even though Tom canceled Saturday and Sundays shows, I thought the ones for Thursday and Friday were absolutley fantastic! He still did a wonderful job. I even got 2 photographs with him after the show. I saw him leaving Resorts and he told me he was feeling better, but that his vocal cords were swollen. I hope he has a speedy recovery! Get well soon! Love U Lots!

    That picture is too cute. Tom looks like someone made him stand in the corner until he is a better boy. All the prayers I can muster are with him for a complete recovery.
